In every good work there is a history behind. The establishment of Banashree is the result of a revolutionary conservation work which is initiated by the owner of Banashree. There was a time when the rest of the people of fringe area of the National Park were highly involved in the destruction of the forest for shaping their livelihoods. On that mean time Banashree was established and motivated the people who were directly or indirectly involved in destroying the forest and eco system. Banashree is a collective effort of the owner and workers who have been able to sustain a conservation mission and providing an alternative livelihoods to the people of Dibru-Saikhowa. We would also like to inform that a major amount of money that Banashree earns goes for conservational activities.
